San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Randolph scored all six of Memphis points in the third overtime, lifting the Grizzlies over the San Antonio Spurs, 117-116, in a wildly entertaining game on Wednesday. Randolph ended with 21 points and 21 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who ended the Warriors 16-game winning streak with a 105-98 win Tuesday. Marc Gasol tallied 26 points and nine boards. Its the biggest game for us because theyve been beating us, said Randolph. The last time we won here was what, the playoffs, right? Its a long time. They have our number. It felt good to get a win, to get that confidence. Vince Carter made five 3-pointers en route to 18 points for Memphis, which won despite blowing a 23-point lead. Mike Conley donated 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. The Grizzlies have won six in a row to improve to 21-4 on the season. Danny Green went 7-of-13 from beyond the arc and finished with 25 points and seven boards for the Spurs, who have lost two in a row. Tim Duncan had 23 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks. It was great all around. There were some good shots made and some big shots missed, said Duncan. We put ourselves in a tough position to start the game because we were down so much. It was just the little things. We really fought back into it though and gave it all we had, but we came up short. The fun started after Greens 3-pointer gave the Spurs an 88-86 lead with one minute remaining in regulation. After Gasol missed a layup, Duncan went 1-of-2 from the line to make it a three-point contest. Carter missed a 3-pointer and Boris Diaw came down with a key defensive rebound. Diaw, however, threw the ball away and Conley made a game-tying 3- pointer with 7.2 seconds left. Following a timeout, Manu Ginobili kicked the ball out to a wide-open Green for another 3-pointer. But Gasol followed with a ridiculous 30-foot bank shot at the buzzer to force overtime. Diaw and Green each connected from beyond the arc around a Conley jumper to make it 101-100 San Antonio with 1:21 remaining in the first overtime. Duncan and Green recorded blocks to give the Spurs the ball back. Duncan went 1-of-2 from the line with 48.9 ticks left on the clock, but the Spurs made another critical mistake. After Carter missed a 3-pointer, Ginobili turned the ball over on a bad pass. Gasol made San Antonio pay by making a game-tying layup with 9.3 seconds to go. Ginobilis one-handed jumper was off the mark as time expired. The Spurs took a 109-108 lead on Diaws 3-pointer with 1:01 left in the second overtime. After an empty possession from each team, Courtney Lee made a go- ahead 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining. Duncan forced another overtime with a 16-foot bank shot that rattled in. Duncan started the third extra session with a short jumper, but Randolph scored the next six points. Greens final 3-pointer of the night cut the gap to 117-116 with 40.5 seconds left. San Antonio had one last chance following misses from Conley and Lee. Ginobili, however, missed from distance and Conley came down with the defensive rebound. Earlier, the Grizzlies shot 70 percent from the field in the first quarter en route to a 34-19 lead. The margin reached 23 in the second, but the Spurs ended the frame on a 24-8 run to get within 52-45 at the half. The Grizzlies came out strong in the third stanza and built a 17-point lead. However, San Antonio fought back again and got within 73-68 heading to the fourth. Marco Belinelli and Green made back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Spurs their first lead of the game, 80-77, with 8:21 left in the fourth. Miller is done for the year after tests Monday revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, which he injured in the first quarter of Denvers 37-13 win at Houston over the weekend. "Its definitely going to be a blow," executive vice-president John Elway said on his weekly podcast on the teams website. "But I think that weve done a good job of handling adversity throughout the year. This is another bump in the road for us." The Broncos (12-3) have hit so many potholes this season its a wonder theyre not broken down on the side of the Super Bowl Expressway. Instead, they can wrap up the AFCs top seed with a win at Oakland (4-11) on Sunday. Millers injury ended a rough third season for the Broncos star, which began with a six-game drug suspension and included just five sacks and 33 tackles in 10 games. With 30 sacks in his first two NFL seasons, Miller won the NFLs Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2011 and was runner-up for the leagues Defensive Player of the Year honour last season. He set a team record in 2012 with 18 1/2 sacks to go with 28 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles. In the off-season, Elway called Miller the best football player on the planet. But Miller ran afoul of the NFLs drug program, was suspended for the first month and a half of the season and never really returned to form in 2013. Miller worked out at the teams Dove Valley complex during his banishment, and he bulked up to 270 pounds -- 24 pounds more than when he was selected second overall in the 2011 draft out of Texas A&M. Miller was rusty upon his return. Although his bulkier body enhanced his bull rush, it seemed to sap some of his athleticism that made him such a special pass rusher. He had moments where hed flash his old form, and last week he spoke about peaking for the playoffs. Although the Broncos went 6-0 during his suspension, that was before they also lost safety Rahim Moore (leg) aand linemen Kevin Vickerson (hip) and Derek Wolfe (illness).dddddddddddd The Broncos find themselves once again scrambling to make up for the loss of a dynamic playmaker teams had to account for even though he wasnt having his typically disruptive season. "Its like losing a guy like Ryan Clady earlier in the season or (wide receiver Wes) Welker," coach John Fox said via a teleconference with reporters after being sent home Monday because of the flu. "Any time you take away those calibre of players, its a blow." The Broncos will look to replace Miller on the roster with another pass-rusher. Miller was rushing Matt Schaub when he was blocked cleanly by tight end Ryan Griffin. His right knee buckled and he crumpled to the ground. Miller walked off the field and into the locker room with a team doctor and trainer. Because he didnt need to be carted off, there was hope his injury wasnt season-ending and that he might return in the playoffs. "It wasnt anything that was a late hit. It wasnt even a hit," Elway said. "It was just sometimes you tear those ACLs. Its unfortunately a fact of where you step and when you get hit at the same time and that was really what happened to Von. It was really just the ACL, so it should make for a quick recovery." The best case is that hes back for training camp after surgery sometime next month. ACL recoveries generally take six to nine months. The Broncos will once again rely on Nate Irving at strongside linebacker in the base defence and on Shaun Phillips, Robert Ayers and newcomer Jeremy Mincey on passing downs -- along with dialing up creative blitzes. "Hes a special player, no question, one of the best guys Ive seen on the edge in my career," Broncos tight end Julius Thomas said. "What hes able to do on the field, what he can bring, it will be missed, but most importantly we wish him the best, we wish him a fast recovery. "Were going to be there for him and we know hell be there rooting us on."
